Giddy on up to the Foundation’s Spring Event: Throw Down at the Hoedown (April 29-30)
The Fort Calhoun Community Schools Foundation is excited to bring another weekend of fun and entertainment to Fort Calhoun this Spring! Throw Down at the Hoedown will take place the last weekend of April. The weekend’s western theme will have events for all ages to enjoy and bring Pioneer families, alumni, and community together. All proceeds will benefit the Fort Calhoun Community Schools Foundation to fund scholarships, classroom support grants, and the student benevolence fund.
Murder Mystery Night will kick off the weekend on Friday night, April 29th at 7PM. The event will be held at the Fort Bar in Fort Calhoun, and this is an adult-only event. Those registered will get details about the Murder Mystery parts- tickets are $25. There will be snacks provided and a full cash bar.
Saturday, April 30th will be action-packed with events for cowgirls & cowboys of all ages. Families and friends can enter teams into The Great American Race Team Scavenger Hunt in the afternoon, followed by a 1-Mile Kids Run and a 5K Run. Awards will be given to top finishers afterwards. The Hoedown will be Saturday evening at the brand new Northern Lights venue. We have the honor of being the first event held at the venue, and it’s going to be amazing! There will be a BBQ dinner (provided by those who have entered the BBQ Competition), a live band, dancing, and cash bar. There will be a babysitting option for kids during the evening, as this event is adults only. Details for babysitting signup will be coming soon!
The Great American Race Team Scavenger Hunt : 1-3 PM (Teams of 4). $45
1-Mile Kids Fun Run : 4PM (Includes a t-shirt). $15
5K Hoedown Run : 4:30 PM (includes a t-shirt, dinner, 2 drink tickets, & entrance into dance). $45. Race Only (+ t-shirt) $30.
BBQ Dinner/Competition: 5:30 -8 PM (Meat will be prepared by BBQ Contestants). $25.
Band & Hoedown (dance) : 6:30 - 10PM
